Two years ago, Lauren committed to a lifestyle overhaul. Though she had improved her health and fitness a great deal, it was the 28-Day Cleanse & Detox that helped push her over the edge and finally meet her goals.
Q: What prompted your lifestyle change? A: I started on a two-year health and fitness trend when I lost my job two years ago. I realized it was a good time to restart my life instead of feeling sorry for myself. I dove head-first into fitness and got myself on the right track, even learning a new trade and starting a whole new career. I learned to love working out, and over time, I lost 25 pounds.
Q: You were already making strides to live a healthier life, so what about the 28-Day Cleanse & Detox program appealed to you and your health goals? A: Though I’d been working with you on and off since 2012, and even did a few of your Restyle Your Lifestyle classes, I had never found the courage or the right time to do the detox…until now. I had built tons of muscle, lost weight, and felt great, but I still had those last stubborn ten pounds to lose in order to reach my goal. I decided the best way to lose it and jumpstart my metabolism would be to try the detox.
Q: Did you face any challenges while completing the program? A: It was tough at times, but because I already ate pretty healthy, it wasn’t that hard to cut out other things like cheese, yogurt, red meat, or coffee. I substituted and still felt satisfied.
Q: How did your health improve over those four weeks? A: I have never felt so energized or healthy, and I finally lost those last ten pounds.
Q: Are you continuing the program even after the detox has ended? A: Yes! I’m still drinking my shakes and haven’t gone back to eating dairy or complex carbs. I don’t feel I need them and I feel great without them.
Q: What motivates you to stick with the program? A: My fitness level has reached an all-time high and I have lost a total of 35 pounds—I’m down to my college weight! I’m turning 50 in three months and feeling the best I have ever felt in my whole life!
Q: What advice do you have for others who may be looking for courage or inspiration to try the 28-Day Cleanse & Detox? A: There is never a right time. You just have to commit and say the time is now. If you fall off the wagon, just get right back on. Anyone can do it. When I talk to people and tell them what I did on the detox, everyone tells me the same thing: “I can’t live without my coffee.” I used to feel the same way—but guess what—I have not had coffee since I started the detox and I really don’t miss it at all. There are healthier substitutes and choices for everything. You can do anything you set your mind to. It just takes work, willpower, motivation, and courage.
